UGG Riding Boots

Last weekend I had the opportunity to partner up with UGG Australia for a shopping trip to the Georgetown Ugg Store and trick or treating at Boo At The Zoo in DC. It was a fun family outing and of course Ariyana was in candy heaven.

I am a huge fan of the original Ugg boots and I typically wear them in the winter running errands,  going to barre class or the gym. They are also a must have for kids and every year I like to buy Ariyana a new pair. In the past I have always picked out Ariyana's Ugg boots {you know something neutral like black or grey} but this time she walked into the store and spotted these pink boots and insisted this was the pair she wanted.  There was absolutely no convincing her about trying on any other pair of boots in the store. I think she would have wanted the boots even if they were two sizes too small!

So I have to admit I had no idea Ugg carried such chic boots and ankle boots. Who knew right? Since I already have a pair of the original Ugg boots I decided to try out these riding boots.  The boots, crafted in oiled suede and buttery leather with a stylish rear zipper,  are so comfortable, cozy, and chic. And the best feature of these boots is that they are have a luxurious sheepskin sockliner. {just like the original Ugg boots} So if you're looking for a new pair of riding boots I would highly recommend checking these out.

Boots we selected from the Ugg store in Georgetown {1249 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington DC 20007}  castille riding boots, bailey bow ugg boots, and vanowen 78

Disclosure-Ugg shoes and tickets to Boo At The Zoo were provided as part of this review. No compensation was provided and all opinions are my own.

A Stylish Princess Party

{DIY princess wooden magic wands, paper straws, fairy princess wands, and princess party hats}

For Ariyana's 5th birthday we threw her a stylish princess party at home. The kids all dressed up in their favorite princess outfits, made their own magic wands, ate princess cupcakes and other goodies, and watched Sophia The First in our home movie theatre. And it's safe to say the highlight of the party for the kids was eating popcorn and watching Sophia in the movie theatre.

{homemade strawberry cupcakes with princess toppers, Martha Stewart cake stand,  funfetti rice krispy pops, and favor boxes }

{And a kid's party is not complete without wine and cheese for the adults }

A Little Break

Ariyana is all done with preschool until the New Year so today we just hung out and had a lazy day together. She loves trying on my makeup and apparently loves these YSL glossy stains as much as I do.

Strawberry Vanilla Frozen Pops

Yesterday after a scorching hot day at camp, Ariyana and I decided to make these refreshing and delicious strawberry vanilla frozen pops. If you ignore the sweet toppings these frozen pops are healthy and a great snack for kids and adults.

Ingredients:

1 cup vanilla yogurt

12 fresh strawberries (remove stems but not core)

6 popsicle sticks, cake pop sticks, or bamboo chopsticks

Directions:

1. Line a sheet pan with wax paper

2. Spoon vanilla yogurt into a small bowl. Insert 1 stick into the stem end of 2 strawberries

3. Using the stick as a skewer, dip the strawberry pops into the yogurt. Repeat for remaining strawberries and sticks.

4. Lay each pop on the prepared sheet pan and decorate with various toppings of choice. We used shredded coconut, confetti sprinkles, oreo chocolate, and candy covered chocolate. (You can also use nuts but Ariyana has a nut allergy so we skipped them.)

5. Place in the freezer for at least 2 hours before covering or serving. Store covered in freezer until ready to serve.

Ariyana- DVF for Gap wrap romper

Yesterday Aneesh, Ariyana and I headed to Georgetown for an afternoon stroll, a delicious Italian dinner al fresco, and we finished off the weekend with ice cream. It was a great way to end a week full of birthday and Mother's Day celebrations. This outfit combines my favorite trends right now including a statement necklace, lace, white, and two tones sandals. And Ariyana was loving her new romper which she has likes to call a "skort."
