    Show Me Your Mumu

I just discovered this fun and versatile line of clothing called Show Me Your Mumu. The mumu can be worn with a slip as a short dress, as a long tunic with pants, or over a bikini as a cover up. I would even belt it for a more fitted and slimmer look. My favorite piece from the collection is the Wendy Topslip in peacock and solid black.

What really caught my attention about this brand is their special line called Care for Kenya Series. (Both of my parents were born and raised in Kenya) Each mumu in this line is produced by women in Kenya from local fabrics to help generate a reliable and sustainable income for these women who are deeply affected by HIV/AIDS and have limited work capabilities.  All proceeds of this mumu will not only be direct towards expanding the program in the hopes of reaching more and more vulnerable women in Kenya, but a large contribution will be given back to the women of Kibera who have contributed their time and hard work to the line. Check out the lovely mumu's from the Kenya collection here

Not quite a mumu - but just bought this at Monsoon in London: http://www.monsoon.co.uk/all-dresses/felipe-kaftan/invt/85342103/&bklist=icat,5,shop,women,tunicandkaftan,kaftanwomens.

Wow! Never knew that about your parents. I somehow feel happy that you have an African heritage. Is that silly?

I adore mumus -- weird? Oh, well. Although I tend to belt them, which sort of defeats the purpose...
