Your Guide to Style

Lately I have not had much time to read lengthy novels but these style books are on my current reading list and they will be perfect for my upcoming air travel.

1. Pia Me by Pia Jacobsen. I bought this book but I have not had a chance to read it yet.

2. Lauren Conrad Style Guide.  I saw this book in Urban Outfitters and it looked pretty good. This may be my next purchase.

3. Oh No She Didn't: The Top 100 Mistakes Women Make and How to Avoid Them by Clinton Kelly.   My colleague Sandy was so sweet and thoughtful to send me this book as a thank you for being her mentor the past few months.  Sandy had the wonderful opportunity to attend a book signing with Clinton Kelly and she managed to get me a signed copy of the book.  Some of the topics he discusses are muffin tops, mom jeans, scrunchies, suntan hose, and visible panty lines. I think this is going to be a good read!

4. Getting the Pretty Back: Friendship, Family and Finding the Perfect Lipstick by Molly Ringwald. This book was on sale at Barnes and Noble and so I picked this up. It's a quick, easy, and light read.

Are you currently reading any interesting books?

And a very special thank you to my husband who gave me this (also here) because he thought I would love it and he wanted to thank me for making him a smoothie and coffee every morning.   So to all you lovely ladies -make sure you husband's and boyfriend's are reading your blogs!

Happy Halloween!

I'm actually trying.. trying... to read Jane Austen's Mansfield Park -- never read it before but saw the BBC series... It was good but I don't think that counts as reading the original book though :/
These all look good and the Molly Ringwald book sounds interesting. I need more hours in the day in order to squeeze in book reading time!!

I read Lauren Conrad's LA candy, it was an easy book to read and entertaining enough. I sort of want to get this one as well for my flight back at christmas

Hi Naina!
These look like fun reads. Im also looking for a new one.
About the apple cake- I followed the recipe exact, but next time I would add more sugar- just a few more pinches) and add more applesauce- (just another 2-3 teaspoons.) I was also thinking that mashing a banana and adding it to the cake mixture would be awesome- it was a tiny bit bland in my opinion, although the guys eating it couldn't get enough!
The walnuts also make a big difference, I would def suggest using them.
Good Luck! and cant wait to hear how it turns out!
Have a fab weekend!

All of those books seriously look good.

I'm definitely purchasing the Molly Ringwald first- Love her, and this sounds perfect for me:).

Thanks for sharing!!

All of these books sound fabulous. I definitely want to read LC's and Clinton Kelly's. I just started reading a chick-lit book by Jennifer Weiner called Best Friends Forever. I'm sure it will be fluffy and girly, not very substantial (exactly what I'm in the mood for currently). Okay, your husband is a gem. That necklace is GORGEOUS! What a great thank you gift. It always makes me feel good to know that Gabe's reading my blog. It makes me feel supported. ;) Hope you have a great weekend, Naina!

i just bought 2 new books - but haven't cracked them open - 1 is called 'prozac nation' (alot of people heard of it) and the other i forget .. i don't read fashion books - i just like to look at pictures .. when i read i usually read books that help me grow to be a better person ...

October 29, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterErika @ ~TiptoeButterfly~

@Erika-ha ha you are funny! until I started this blog I didn't buy many fashion books either! But they are great for the airplane or when you dont' have too much time. My husband just read Barbara Strauchs' The Secret LIfe of the Grown-Up Brain. It looks intriguing so it will be my next read. Have a great weekend!! Naina
