Hello January

Happy New Year!

We just returned from a two week family vacation {photos here} to Singapore and Thailand  and it was the perfect way to close out 2014, re energize,  and get excited for 2015. I especially love traveling at the end of the year because it's the best time to reflect on the past year and think about future goals for my personal life, health and wellness, and career.  

I have never been big on making resolutions because for the most part I believe they are empty promises. But last year I decided to choose one word to describe how I wanted to feel instead of what I wanted to accomplish or do in the New Year. This one word can be used to help guide me in my actions, behavior, goal setting, and how to best use my free time. This year my one word mantra is happiness.

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day! Hope you have a wonderful day and weekend ahead. Here are a few of my instagram photos from the past week. The roasted sweet potato soup with quinoa is a must try. The soup is so flavorful and it is the perfect dish on a cold snowy evening.

Can you believe we are already in the month of June? I thought I would share a few Instagram photos I posted during the month of May. And speaking of photos I am looking forward to kicking off the first weekend in June with a digital photography class today and then spending the rest of the weekend with my girlfriends visiting from Boston.  It will great to catch up with them and explore a few new restaurants and sites in the Washington D.C. area.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
