    Stylish Things: Weekend Edition

On Friday after work I went to get my nails done and I really wanted to try white nail polish. But there was a  wait  at the salon {and I am very impatient} so I stopped over at CVS and bought Essie-Blanc and did my nails myself. I think the last time I did my own nails was when I was a teenager! I managed to get the job done but there is definitely room for improvement.

On Saturday morning my sister and her fiance joined us for Ariyana's first Ballet recital. Afterwards we all enjoyed brunch at Gaslight, our favorite brunch spot in the South End.

On Saturday afternoon, before meeting our friends for dinner at Hamersley's Bistro, I had the opportunity to meet the talented and lovely New York based fashion designer Jennifer Chun at the Louis Boston Exposure event. I adore Jennifer's collection and I left with this calligraphy printed silk georgette dress from her 2011 Fall and Winter Collection.

By the time Sunday arrived I was exhausted from our busy weekend.  So I spent much of the day lounging in my pajamas and spending quality time with family.  I also baked my mom's spinach-mushroom-onion quiche for lunch {Stay tuned later this week for the quick and easy recipe}.

I ended the weekend by packing my {and Ariyana's} bangles, earrings, and bindi's, for my sister and her fiance's engagement party and a family wedding we are attending next week.

How did you like the white polish? I been debating to get it too, but just not sure. I got Figi the other day and that's pretty white but has a little pink.

Such a pleasure seeing you last weekend! I am glad you bought that Jennifer Chun dress, otherwise I would have had to buy it myself;) I loved the white polish you were sporting too, very fresh for summer. Chanel's new fall colors just came out, can't wait to get them on my nails!

Hi! Just stumbled upon your blog -- through a comment on Smitten Kitchen's site, actually -- and found this photograph. What a fun blog! Is there *any* chance you know where those earrings came from, in your picture above? The large antique gold hoops with the tiny "ghugraa" bells that line the arc? I am in love with those, and have been searching desperately for a pair like that! Thanks for your writing, it's wonderful to read! - Seema
